Although the New Year is still kicking in, we’ve all got our radios tuned to Channel Valentine. Yes, love is in the air – but it’s ‘strange love, so it’s cool, kind of like the things we’ve all been making this past week.
Last week, I previewed my Henry VIII pin cushion, promising that the Anne Boleyn scissor cozy would be coming along soon. Little did I know how much work I’d have to do to make that pledge come true! After many days and nights, however, I have created an Anne I adore, and here she is with Henry!
Wait, though. Wasn’t Anne Boleyn beheaded? In our own twisted ways, aren’t we all fascinated by that fact?! Wouldn’t it be terribly wrong and wonderful if this Anne’s head came off, too???
Not so fun for Anne, but LOTS of fun for you!
You can order this practical pair for your favorite seamstress, crafter, history buff, or honey pants for Valentine’s Day – or you can cheat and order some for yourself right now! (I will be making no more than 12 sets, so ordering early is a good idea!)
Meanwhile, in between fits of crocheting, I will also be making some Valentine’s post cards:
As a faithful reader of our WIP Wednesday posts, you no doubt know that Cinderpants is a runner. For Christmas, her mama got her some special socks to help her moisturize those fast-running feet, but I’ll bet her mama didn’t expect her to be creating mixed-media brilliance at the same time.
(I find myself unable to resist lowering my voice so I sound like the guy in the Old Spice ad: Look at the socks. Now look at the art. Back to the socks. Now back to the art! Sadly, those socks aren’t art, but they might smell like art after Cindy spills paint on them.)
Cindy will also be rocking the black-and-white look this Valentine’s Day (in her socks). I am especially psyched to see how this one turns out!
Never say we don’t bleed for our art here at wonderstrange, by the way, because Cinders snipped her fingers while working on that piece, the poor thing! At least now her finger matches her feet . . .
Keep your eyes on Cindy’s shop because she’ll be making more of her crazy-amazing cards very soon!
Don’t tell Sarah I told you this, but I am pretty sure she is trying to kill all of us. Look at this:
Didn’t you just die a little bit inside? I’m not talking major organ failure, but admit it: You lost some cells, because that is one of the cutest things ever created in all of history. I’ll be ordering one even if it knocks out a kidney!
Meanwhile, with some help from her husband, Sarah has finished her major New Year’s reorganization:
Holy crap, right?!
Final reminder: You have until January 7 to post pictures of your wonderstrange-inspired ornaments to our forum so that you’ll be entered in our contest. Visitors to the site will select the winner, who scores this cool canvas by Cindy Jo!
Good luck to everyone participating!

Yay! I just ordered Henry and Anne. It's supposed to be a gift, but I may in fact keep them.
