You know that song that plays in Shrek when everyone is wandering around all sad cause Shrek yells at Donkey and Shrek and Fiona are in love and the dragon is in love with Donkey and Lord Farquaad is in love with himself? Yeah, this is that song.
This is one of a handful of songs that I can play on my ukulele (I need to learn more songs but I strangely don’t seem to have time), but I may never play it again because this is the best cover EVER:
This post is not about that or Shrek, though.. it’s about art. SO HAVE SOME ART.
This is a tiny page in my journal – it measures about 4 x 6. This was definitely good this week since I have a billion things to do and no time to do them. Yay!
I didn’t know how well colored pencil would work over clear gesso, but I figured it was toothy enough to work, and it totally does. Mental note: If you throw down some clear gesso, colored pencil goes on like a dream.
I’m really digging the music notes in the background on this one. And the hints of turquoise through the orange, of course. 😉
Video! Short and sweet!
Have a good week, rock out with your clocks out.
xo,
Sarah

Thank you lovely! I will warn you: Regular gesso + colored pencil = works for crap. Clear gesso is really gritty, so it works really well!

LOVE this! I never had thought to try to use clear gesso and colored pencils (but Colored pencils really scare me…!) Will have to put on the big girl panties and grab a shot then try this… LOL!
Rock on! (Totally following along with you)
