I got a lot of really cool presents for Christmas this year, like this gorgeous set of Tudor matryoshka dolls, created by artist Rhonda Anderson:
Imagine my giddy glee when next I opened this gorgeous set of matryoshka dolls, created by artist SL Scheibe:
I might even have said to someone at that point, “I am going to have to figure out a cool way to display these!” Because here’s the problem with smallish objects. They look great up close on a shelf, like this:
“I need to create some sort of tiers,” I said to my husband, and he said, “Don’t you have blocks in the garage?” OH YEAH.

Aren't they?! I kind of feel like the luckiest ducky in the matryoshka pond!

That's a brilliant display. Wow. Also, can I be in that book club?

Thanks! Yeah, you totally can. That was my first thought as well – where do I sign up?!

WOW!! I'll bet you have one interesting house to explore!

Hahaha. I do, as a matter of fact. I often just stop talking to people when they first come over, because candidly, they aren't listening. They're wandering about taking in all the cool things on display!

Those are so kewl! I think if it were me, it would never get done. It's like trying to start off in a new clean sketch book and you're afraid to mess it up! I would be afraid to mess up the doll! Ha!

Oh, I bet you would surprise yourself! Yes, there is definitely a nervousness that comes with making these, but the more you do it, the more you know you can just paint over any flubs. They're super fun to make!
