Wednesday Wow: Alternative Art Movie Posters

I don’t remember what I was doing when I came across an alternative art movie poster for Pan’s Labyrinth, the brilliant but heartbreaking wartime fairy tale directed by Guillermo del Toro.

Oh, wait.  Actually, I do remember what I was doing.  I was clicking the “buy” button, because I love that film, and I love this artist’s vision of an alternative poster.

El Laberinto del Fauno, or Pan’s Labyrinth, by Adam Rabelais

After I saw this, I thought to myself that surely Adam Rabelais could not be the only human being on the planet to re-imagine some of my favorite movies in bold new ways.  And I was right!   Behold this fantastic poster for The Matrix, a film so good that it can even withstand Keanu Reeves:

Or how about this Dark Knight poster by Brandon Schaefer:

Perhaps you have already spent an hour or two perusing alternative art movie posters on the internets, but then again, perhaps you need to do that now.  There has never been a classier way to display movie posters in your home.

    • OMFG! That Snow White poster is 11 kinds of brilliant! It makes me want to say, 'I love how the artist plays with negative space." And that makes me want to punch myself. The poster is fantastic, regardless. The heart in the middle of the core does me in.

Yes, that Psycho poster is great! That artist uses the male and female signs / figures / bathroom-door beauties for a whole bunch of different films, but the Psycho one is the best.
