Hello, you sweet things, and welcome to week 3!
I spent a lot of time noodling this project this week. I am sure I will change the way things work throughout the year – this is a process, right? Right. I am trying to find a way to keep it fresh and interesting without stressing about coming up with 10 new prompts every week, so I sat down and wrote out a giant master list of prompts for you! You can find that page here.
There should be enough prompts to keep you inspired – personally I wouldn’t pick any less than 5 in order to keep it going in small bits, but you are free to do it however you want!
My spread this week became really love-centric. My main art spread (illustrating something hilarious) is my husband, who surprised us all by randomly texting our oldest son with “WIZARDS ONLY, FOOLS!” We watch a lot of Adventure Time around here, but he is off in a hotel in Connecticut. By himself. Watching Adventure Time. Awww.
450 years. We have been together for a long time.
It is obviously really imperfect – my eraser smeared the ink lines on his shirt and messed up the hearts – and I’m totally fine with it.
I was doing yoga today, and the instructor randomly demanded that a friend in the class start singing during the ending meditation. She did, and it was beautiful – so beautiful and surprising and inspiring that the instructor sat there with tears running down her face. She said it was important to feel the passion and let yourself be moved. That made me SO happy, so I figured it needed to go in there.
On the other side of this page is another quote that I have been thinking about over the last week, from a video about making journals with Paulus Berensohn. You can find the video here – it’s sort of amazing – take the 10 minutes and watch it!
I used this page to destash a little bit and use some of the random Gelli Printed deli paper I have laying around here.
The final page in my spread is about the books I’ve read this week and what happens when I get so lost that I forget where I am.
I also did a couple of scrappy things – a picture of my daughter in her Kindergarten fashion show (Spiderman never looked so fabulous) and a small print of a painting I did this week that I am super proud of.
I didn’t do the Journal52 prompt this week, although any of them could really apply as it was ‘You Make Me Smile’
So that’s it!! You can download the PDF of the journal prompts for easy printing and keeping to inspire you through the week if that helps!
Link up your blog, flickr, facebook, Deviant Art, etc., to the Mr. Linky so that we can all come and give you love!
